Nutrition Counseling

I assess each client’s unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences to create a plan that fits them.

We cover gut health, metabolism, nutrient dense  food choices and meal planning as I educate clients on the link between nutrition  and health, and provide ongoing support to help them achieve their goals. My goal is to empower clients to make sustainable dietary changes for optimal health and well-being.

Living with the Legacy of Loss

My work focuses on the grief we, as a collective and as individuals, are experiencing today that leave many of us feeling alone and cut off from our communities.
 

Now, the wars in Europe and the Middle East compounds the world’s pandemic grief. Witnessing the losses caused by the invasion of Ukraine has been heartbreaking even from a distance of thousands of miles away.
 

As a species, we are dealing with so much grief, and more types of grief than ever before: social injustice, the environmental crisis, mass shootings, job loss or insecurity, housing instability, isolation during the pandemic, and hostility within our communities.
 

The burden of our losses is heavy.
 

Western culture’s tendency is to bypass or avoid grief, or to become preoccupied with it and have it be impossible to let go of. Neither of these approaches helps us to be in relationship with grief.
 

My approach to working with grief is to develop a relationship with grief. I will show you the difference between befriending grief versus mourning.
 

In Living with the Legacy of Loss, we will take a mindfulness-based somatic approach to grief and loss which:
 

  • Takes advantage of the body’s resources to achieve optimal levels of sadness — not too much or too little
  • Increases resilience in the face of loss and increases our ability to tolerate grief
  • Diminishes the effects of isolation and loneliness
  • Understands grief as a whole-body experience
  • Helps us ride the roller coaster of emotions from numb to excruciating and emerge on the other side
     

Using a somatic approach, you will learn how to change the relationship with grief from one of intense intrusive feelings, to being able to relate to them as a bodily and emotional experience without words. It is possible for you to learn to mindfully follow the waves of emotion as physical sensations needing only completion and letting go.

 

We are living in a time of significant loss. We need no more “proof” that grief is a central issue in our lives, and that there is a greater need for how to process it.

Timeline therapy

All of us go through times when our heart is in pain.

Life involves heartbreak in many forms: early childhood & adult trauma, life threatening illness, death of a loved one, relationship breakup, divorce, job loss/redundancy, failure, disappointment and many other challenges. In those times, how do we care for ourselves?

Do we shut off and disconnect or make the brave choice of healing?

Do we cradle our hearts or lock it in a far-off room?

Do we nourish ourselves or numb ourselves?

It may seem easier to ignore emotions, but healing requires us to face what we need, to reconnect with our soul and feel safe to be who we really are.

I am so excited to share Neuro Transformational Therapy (NTT) Timeline Therapy with you. It is the science of changing how we communicate with ourselves and others.

Through gentle guided meditation we access the part of our brain, the subconscious mind and release uncomfortable emotions and limiting beliefs that were stored there from experiences in our childhood where we felt unsafe, unseen, unheard, not validated, not loved. this is a form of trauma stored in the nervous system and body. And from these first events, our brains were hard wired to confirm these beliefs throughout our experiences in life. And we remain stuck because the subconscious mind is running 95% of our day, not the 5% thinking mind saying “I desire” things to be different. 

From age 0 – 7 the human brain is in Theta state, a state of imagination and play. During our sessions, we access this same state through guided meditation to easily and effortlessly dissolve the attachment/connections with these suppressed emotions and limiting beliefs. And from this new place of peace and contentment, you will feel whole and in control. We also install NEW powerful positive beliefs and provide you with short simple daily rituals to support you in everyday life to live from a place of confidence and self-love.

This process is used all over the world, particularly in the UK  and it’s called Timeline Transformation Therapytm.

Timeline techniques have been used in what is called the Warrior Program and is used with war veterans who have come back after fighting in the Middle East like Afghanistan and Iraq.

They were looking for techniques that would be effective to remove veterans traumas and negative emotions. They got such good results with timeline techniques that it was endorsed by Prince Charles who continued to support the program.

This process is scientifically proven to release those negative emotions and limiting beliefs from your nervous system and it has actually been shown how those emotions actually then dissolve in the body and disappear.

Timeline therapy is an innately calming and grounding experience. If you struggle with speaking up, not putting yourself first, and being able to take consistent action toward your health goals, then this is going to be the perfect opportunity for change and growth.
